Mark Knoller- Pres Trump was scheduled to leave Friday to attend the Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru and then stop for a day in Bogota, Colombia on Sunday, on the way back to the US. Cancellations of presidential foreign trips rare, but not unprecedented.

Pres cancels trip at weeks end to Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru and to Bogota, Colombia. @PressSec says @VP will travel in @POTUS' place. @PressSec says Pres will remain in the US "to oversee the American response to Syria and to monitor developments around the world."

Tom Bossert resigning as WH Homeland Security Advisor. No reason given in WH statement. @PressSec says @POTUS "grateful for Tom's commitment to the safety and security" of the US. Sanders says @POTUS thanks Bossert for "his patriotic service and wishes him well."

President's cancellatiom of his foreign trip further suggests US military response to Syria could be imminent.

By comparison, Pres Obama cancelled 3 foreign trips: once to press for passage of his health care bill, 2nd time due to BP oil spill; and 3rd time due to a Govt Shutdown.

I think the media , Ex Secretary of State Madeleine Aldumb and others still think the US should be the police force of the world. They are at least trying to sway public opinion with this garbage.

I don’t think being the world’s police force (in the standard use of the term) is that high on the President’s agenda. Now the recent break-ins, rogue FBI and other alphabet agencies may cause him to put a pause on his travels.

Thank Goodness. That area of S. America is a hot bed of terror gangs. I was really worried about it. New President there in Peru - not sure I trust him either.

I think we already sent in about 500 military to beef up security, but I was still worried about it.
