I have had a cell phone since 1994

And to think you started out with the phone you had to wind up and connect to Mabel down at the post office to connect you by plugging a wire into a hole in the wall.

You've come a long way, Mears.

:)

Was showing dad a picture of my son standing in front of the Eiffel Tower and a short clip of his hands performance that day. He couldn’t believe all this was coming through my phone. With tears in his eyes he said “all this in my lifetime. THink what will come about in little Charlie’s life (My sons first child who had just been born. Think of that moment often as we now get our news live — streaming on the phone !

Ha. I remember when I used to have to go down to the telephone office to see Mabel to even make a phone call. It was interesting to see all the operators sitting there plugging stuff in.

People who had phones had 3 digit numbers. Neighbors often let other neighbors use their phone for emergency calls.
