Diane Feinstein 1994 "We should enforce our borders"
LiveLeak ^ | 3 April 2018 | Dianne Feinstein

Here's a transcript of what Senator Feinstein said in this video (btw, the most recent material here was spoken by Feinstein almost 25 years ago, and she's still a United States senator):

In 1993, at the border in San Ysidro, with Attorney General Janet Reno standing behind her:

...you have to concentrate on saying "the people who should be here are those that come legally, at this time." And... we've got to — for the time being — enforce our borders.

The day when America could be the welfare system for Mexico, is gone. We simply can't afford it. And I think you've seen the figures, to state and local government. It's over two billion dollars...

In 1994, on some TV program:

I think we should enforce our borders. To have a situation where 40% of the babies born on Medicaid in California today are born of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS creates a very real problem for the state, which is in deficit... (interruption)

let me finish... (interruption)

To have 17% of our prison population, at a cost of $300 million a year, the illegal immigrants who come here, and commit felonies, that's not what this nation is all about.

In 1993, during a visit to the Mexican border at San Ysidro:

They are very simple, they've been enforce our border, they have been speed up the asylum process, they have been crack down on illegal smuggling, they have been remove the option that is given to an illegal alien convicted of a felony has an option that is given of serving time in this country, or in their own country... I say return 'em to their own country, wherever that country may be, to serve the time. So my proposals have been all along those lines, and I think most people have regarded them as moderate.

Let me say something about immigration that was said to me. This is the first time that I know of in the history of this country that you have had two United States senators from a state impacted by immigration that have been willing to get into the issue.

We're getting into the issue, with a view that everybody's going to have a number of different proposals. The Attorney General is going to choose some, and not choose others, and that's fine.

But that there should be a a reasonable debate and discussion on what we can do. Not to do so I think is to risk an enormous backlash against all immigrants, and that would be most unfortunate. There is a problem, we've got to meet that problem, with prudent, wise, and moderate solutions, and I think we can.

Feinstein was a centrist and used to actually make sense. Now she is just like all the others.

She was in favor of gun ownership when her life was in danger. Truth be told, she probably still carries.

Republicans should be showing these, and other clips of dems supporting border enforcement to the public on national television. Hannity, Dobbs and others could be doing this. Oh wait, I forgot... the Republican Party is The Stupid Party.

Cause slick willy was for it. Even back that far, rats were just a tiny bit patriotic. These days, not a glimmer.

Yeah, I was thinking a video with as many current politicians as possible saying the same thing, even though they say something different now.
