Did Twitter Shadow Ban Ted Cruz?
PJ Media ^ | 04-07-2018 | Michael van der Galien

With all the talk about Twitter shadow banning conservative commentators, National Review's Jim Geraghty wondered whether the social network also had the gall to go after conservative politicians. So he looked at the number of retweets and likes Senator Ted Cruz's tweets receive on average and compared them to California Democratic Senator Kamala Harris.

Harris has only half of Cruz's followers: 1.5 million versus 3.2 million. As such, you'd expect Cruz to be retweeted more often by his followers. Surprisingly, that's not the case. But that's not even the most shocking part. Look at the difference; it's gigantic.

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz has more than 3.2 million followers. You would figure that almost every tweet he wrote would get a significant reaction. And yet, as you scroll through his feed, you find most tweets he writes have, collectively, a few hundred retweets and likes at most. Just in the last few days: 259 retweets, 90 retweets, 62 retweets. Cruz’s most retweeted item in the past few days appears to have been retweeted 416 times.

California Democratic Senator Kamala Harris has 1.5 million followers, roughly half that of Cruz. But almost all of her tweets are shared at a rate three to four times, sometimes as much as forty times, as much as Cruz’s. Her most recent tweets have been retweeted 1,800 times, 1,300 times, 981 times, and 4,000 times.

The number of retweets Sen. Harris' tweets receive is more or less what you'd expect from a politician with 1.5 million followers. Sen. Cruz's stats, however, are extremely pathetic. He should get that number of retweets with a fraction of the followers he has, especially because his supporters tend to be as passionate as President Trump's.

It’s shameful per twitter’s part. Rush has spoken of this.

Facebook is censoring Diamond and Silk and Chad Prather. As soon as I get all my videos and pictures off Facebook I’m closing my account. Done with them.

That’s what you get when you allow Silicon Valley to displace American programmers and managers with imported anti-American Open-Borders foreigners.

Why wouldn’t you expect them to stack the deck against patriotic American politicians - who would put Americans first?

pjMedia as clickbait? As opposed to those “real” news sources like CNN?

So when you use a member-funded site to daily tease excerpts of your own stuff, but force folks to read the rest at your site because "copyright" (i.e., ads and popups) even though it's your own stuff, isn't that a form of reverse shadow-banning?

Hijacking a worthwhile conversation hinders the cause instead of helping it.

Larry, again, this author is also posted on Drudge with the exact same link.

Get freaking over yourself. It is an honor to have an author with a current Drudge link come to your site and directly post it to you.

It is a publicly traded business that purports to provide public access. it is no different than a lunch counter. You may discriminate all you like in the privacy of your home. You may not do so as a publicly traded public access company. That is a violation of the first amendment and is actionable.
Establishing a user agreement that regulates political speech is no escape from the requirements of the first amendment.

There is another possibility. And maybe this just shows more about me than a typical person.
Do conservatives have less of a tendency to follow tweets? I have not even tried to find the tweet site to read any. Even though I spend most of my time at work on computers, at home I keep it simple, FR and e-mail. Younger generation which tend to be liberal spend more time on computers and surf more - I think.

Scott Adams of Dilbert fame was shadow-banned, too, where they would falsely list his attachments as “unavailable” to a fraction of his followers every time but not the same people every time.

One part is true - even though I was an rabid anti-Cruzer during the FR primary wars in 2015-16, I love Ted.

I like & retweet most if not all of his tweets that I see, and I follow him on Twitter.

There's also the issue of the Resistance bots, like Ed & "Brain" Krassenbot and their ilk, on Twitter.

There's no way these supposed people spend that amount of time on Twitter.

The bots are paid people - probably GROUPS of paid people, busily Astroturfing Twitter for the Left.

The DATA WARS actually began when the PEOPLE of the world became ‘citizens’ having presence online.

Efforts to truly understand this have been trampled by the obvious and powerful effects for good. But the undertones are just as powerful and dark, and a battle rages.
WAR.

DURING 2016 when searching via GOOGLE for TED CRUZ, we found CRIMINALITY in CENSORSHIP.

For HRC, it was: run against ANYONE rather than Ted CRUZ.

2 posts explained this ELECTION crime:
IT expert proves nightly for months that a simple google for TED CRUZ was ineffective and only NEGATIVE results -based on scoring algorithms- to SUPRESS actual search results.

TAMPERING WITH PUBLIC PERCEPTION during ELECTIONS. PSYOPS.

Yahoo/all other search engines TED CRUZ search resulted in 100% balanced and THOUSANDS of positive pages/election sites, etc.

WHAT an obvious crime by the leader (GOOG) in data information indexing and presentation.

Luddite Congress too distracted by Payments and bureaucratic malaise to even SEE or UNDERSTAND this obvious CRIME of DATA MANIPULATION and TAMPERING.

They must be brought up to speed NOW, NOW, NOW or the DATA WARS are lost. These jackasss don’t even use AMAZON to order, much less understand databases, programming, and algorithm science.

RULE 1. EVERY ONLINE RESULT PAGE YOU SEE ASSMBLED BY RULE
RULE 2. EVERY ONLINE RESULT PAGE YOU SEE IS FILTERED
RULE 3. EVERY ONLINE RESULT PAGE YOU SEE IS TRUE OR FALSE.
RULE 4. EDUCATE YOURSELF OR BE MANIPULATED

It would be as if your local library removed all 300 books on the Clinton Crime Family; which exposes them and convict them beyond a reasonable doubt with evidence. LOCK THEM UP.

FIGHT THE BATTLE on EVERY FRONT or leave the theater of WAR.

THIS And surprisingly, for the last month, Donald Trump is in the top stories list for GOOGLE NEWS.

While searching GOOGLE NEWS for “Ted Cruz” would only come up with NEGATIVE results; unlike BING or YAHOO, which gave neutral “Ted Cruz” search results all month.

Gee, I really thought GOOGLE was strictly honest search algorithms.

It certainly is a powerful company! Golly Gee Google!

SECOND POST

To: Jookos

TED CRUZ MARGINALIZED as well I simply googled “Ted Cruz” each morning from February to May, and it was simply sparse, ALL BAD and ALL NEGATIVE.

Using BING or YAHOO or OTHER meta-data searches resulted in a completely different “FAIR and BALANCED” un-slanted set of search results for “Ted Cruz”.

That seems criminal to me. Just statistical science.

“Those that write the history books...”-type stuff...
