Tony Robbins should know better than to come for #MeToo and Times Up. After the life coach disgustingly claimed women are using the movements to feel significant, Twitter rightfully fought back.
A video of celebrity life coach Tony Robbins criticizing the #MeToo movement has gone viral, and women on Twitter immediately began firing back at him. It all started when NowThis shared footage from a seminar in San Jose, California last month that showed Robbins mocking victimhood and thus the many people who have come forward with stories of sexual assault and abuse. If you use the #MeToo movement to try to get significance and certainty by attacking and destroying someone else, you havent grown an ounce. All youve done is basically use a drug called significance to make yourself feel good, the motivational speaker said at the self-help seminar.
After Robbins tone-deaf remarks started gaining traction online, women started calling him out for his ridiculous statements. @TonyRibbons I didnt share my story of gang rape to feel significant I shared it bc it was a SIGNIFICANT life altering and life threatening event that I could no longer remain silent about. #metoo, a user named Brenda Tracy tweeted. Gross @TonyRobbins. You couldnt be further from the mark. Its time for you to put down the mic and LISTEN, another person named Alison Becker said.

Daryl Hannah ✔ @dhlovelife If your famous pal cant trust himself &/or his coworkers to behave respectfully & professionally around a qualified woman just because shes attractive then he has a personal or personnel problem its not a problem of the #Metoo movement @TonyRobbins https://twitter.com/nowthisnews/status/982389487836778496 7:59 PM - Apr 6, 2018
While addressing the crowd, the self-help book author claimed he wasnt knocking the #MeToo movement, but instead was knocking victimhood. He also said that anger is not empowerment. He was largely criticized for these accusations, but actress Daryl Hannah took issue with his anecdote about a very powerful man that, because of Times Up, didnt hire an attractive woman even though she was admittedly the most qualified person for the job. If your famous pal cant trust himself &/or his coworkers to behave respectfully & professionally around a qualified woman just because shes attractive then he has a personal or personnel problem its not a problem of the #Metoo movement, Hannah said. Times Up on more than just sexual assault were done with people not understanding what this movement is really about.
interesting that this happened in early March but only now is getting play in the media. It was just this week that Tony Robbins was mentioned as one of the sponsors/donors to Operation Underground Railroad that rescues kids from traffickers and helps get Christians out of the middle east. I quit believing in coincidences where leftists and attack mobs are concerned.
We can agree to disagree, or at least I hope we can.
Over the years Robbins may have said all kinds unobjectionable things. Some people may assign undue importance to what they hear on TV, or what they read in books for that matter. Maybe some people first heard from Robbins that they need to carefully evaluate everything they learn from those sources. For myself, I’ve long had a personal BS detector that required no advice from Robbins.
Robbins amassed an immense personal fortune by selling himself as a guru, when in fact he’s a cut rate BS artist who taught himself how to run around on stage and use an imposing physical presence to mesmerize his audience. He’s a fraud.
Thanks for the open-minded response. We do disagree, nothing wrong with that.

Everyone has a BS detector. Children have it. But it's not the BS that I'm talking about. It's the techniques they use to program your mind.
We could spend quite a while discussing it, but it is probably easier just to say that FOR ME, being able to counter those mental programming attempts has been very helpful.
If you aren't aware of those techniques, they do affect you, you just don't realize it. Unless, that is, you don't watch TV.
He is right. Stick to your guns and DON’T APOLOGIZE, Tony! Real Americans will support you.
Tony Robbins was a big Tookie Williams supporter.
He is exactly right and this happens kore than ever...we just dont talk about it
Sadly (seriously) a lot of women are much less likely to reach the full potential fo their careers now as all of us in management know it only take one slip by one underling or an alcohol fueled event to destroy careers on a mere accusation so why take the chance?
I don’t think so.
That’s a great idea.
Yes, he did. He was fat and poor. He studied and applied Natural Hygiene and became very fit. He worked with Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, who co-wrote Fit for Life.
I find him off putting at times, but he practices what he preaches.
Some have read the Bible without any one on one guidance, and have been transformed.
No, I am not equating Robbins with God.
Some people can benefit directly by reading, some cannot.
I am an introverted autodidact. Most of what I know that has most benefited me I learned by reading alone and then applying.
Just wanted to add that I saw on the morning news that they’re still beating him about the head, neck, shoulders and chest over this.
The Thought/Speech Police truly ARE terrorists these days!
