I appreciate what he was attempting to do, but turned it off before I had to listen to it, gently or not.
It’s a tough call. People need to understand the horror of what is happening, but preferably not be traumatized or tainted by hearing about it. One way people slide down the slippery slope into perversion is by hearing about it. According to what I’ve read, non-perverts are often aroused by things that they find disgusting, and continued exposure can pull them into it. So we definitely want to avoid that.
I don’t think I’m in danger of being pulled into perversion, but don’t want to take any chances. I am definitely revolted and disgusted and that alone is reason enough to avoid it.
