Before a Thunderstorm you will have a strong down draft of air as the water heads for the ground. Many storms will have very super strong down drafts known as Microbursts. These winds can be 75-100 mph.

An airplane may escape the downdrafts from the gust front with enough power and altitude when encountering it, the same is rarely true of encountering the downdraft from a microburst.

Most airports now have installed microburst detection capability.

Here’s praying that the Storm POTUS brings has a very strong Microburst effect! MAGA!

Almost completely dependent upon the flight segment, takeoff, enroute, landing.

Most airports now have installed microburst detection capability.

Well the ones is Dallas should. For those two segments where aircraft are most vulnerable.
