How about a solar well pump? Dh got one but hasn’t installed it yet. We have a regular electric run well pump but only use it to fill a 2500 gallon tank. So even if power goes out we have a lot of water on hand, we make sure it doesn’t get very low so we pump it periodically, more in summer of course for watering.

Around here plastic water tanks run about $1 per gallon capacity and can be found a bit cheaper, for potable water.

We were looking at that - can’t afford the system that would have enough power for our pump. Also we don’t get enough sun regularly to make it reliable.

Like we’ve been several weeks cloudy and not sun/rain here.
