We unintentionally gave half our kids unisex names. The boys’ names were in only the boy side of the baby name book. I had never heard of them used for girls until after we picked the names. Sigh-I was apparently living under a rock during my child bearing years. Our seventeen year old says he’s only bothered by it because it’s a great name and now he can’t use it for his future daughter. Funny guy...
Our daughter’s name can be used for either depending on the spelling. Of course, shortly after she was born I saw a teen boy in Ireland interviewed on the news. His name was spelled in what I thought was the feminine way.
