Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday praised the choice of Robert Mueller to lead the investigation into whether President Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential elections.
"I don't think it was necessary to appoint a special counsel," Cruz said. "But the Department of Justice made the decision to do that. If they are going to appoint a special counsel, Bob Mueller is an excellent choice."
Cruz said Mueller, a former FBI director with a sterling reputation, would conduct a fair investigation.

I have to stick this somewhere. It should be repeated where appropriate:

@DiamondandSilk
As of yesterday, there are 46 seats without a Republican candidate to run against Democrats. Remember the Dems only need 24 seats to control the house. Where are the RNC, @GOP, and @GOPChairwoman? Do you really want to “WIN” or is this a deliberate setup to lose?
I echo your comments - I like Cruz - and I hope that this is an out-of-context statement - or misrepresented. I would LIKE to think that this is Cruz wanting the investigation to be “thorough” so as to eliminate all after-investigation doubts - especially since Mueller is a Democrat hit man who would like nothing more than to crucify Trump. It would be hard for the Dems to make an argument that the investigation was biased in favor of Trump with Mueller at the helm of it!
Then again - while I don’t THINK it would be in his character - maybe Cruz is still holding a grudge for all the #FakeNews and very real slander Trump himself slung at Cruz in the primary?
Has Sessions been passing the exceptional caotured MJ on to Ted?
No, this was a flashback to Ted in 2017 being a politician and trying to play both sides pushing the collusion investigation while being against it. Conservatives had The Presidency, The Senate, The House, and the Nuclear Option...Soon they were to have SCOTUS. But they couldn’t shut down this investigation???
Ted even said it had to be thorough. Why couldn’t they start one up on PROVEN Criminals like Obama/Clinton and start supporting The President!
Because they including Ted were still Never Trump. They should have let the Dems cry all they want about Trump-Russian collusion. Who freakin cares!
The article is from last year. Cruz may well have changed his mind about Mueller. After all, a lot fo people were hoodwinked by him.
This article was from TEN MONTHS AGO.
This is from last year. Check the date.
This article is almost a year old.
Shouldn’t Mueller’s illegal idiocy in his famous anthrax case fail (with Comey) have been a clue?
This article is from TEN MONTHS AGO.
It was Cruz who brought this up at this time. You know how thorough he can be in the self-righteous department. He reaches the cringe level at election time.
I see that now.
There’s no need to smear cruz now.
things have changed.

If Trump Fires Mueller, Republicans Wont Object

I did and my post still stands! It was a VERY stupid statement.
Competing for most idiotic post of the year award are we?
Old news to help normalize Beto. MAY!, for crying out loud.
Me too. BLAST!
May 2017....????
Good Grief
I think it was an off-the-cuff remark, based on the widely-held view, off Mueller’s fairly unremarkable tenure as a civil servant, that he was a straight arrow. Now, due to his appointments of far left Democrats to his team, it’s become clear that Mueller is a snake-in-the-grass. I expect that the firing of Mueller would cause no angst even among the most liberal of Republicans, except perhaps Jeff Flake.
It would be an excellent opportunity to divorce Democratic senators in red states from their liberal base in November, by having to kiss Trump’s ring and affirm their support of Mueller’s firing. At the same time, Trump could turn out *his base* in the red states by point to Mueller’s out-of-control witch hunt.
No. It’s a very stupid post.
10 months ago, there wasn’t ONE SINGLE Republican in the US Senate that did not agree with what Ted Cruz said about Bob Muller and the Miller probe.
