If I remember correctly, there actually was a moment not too long ago, in the aftermath of Haiti’s Hurricane, that Chelsea looked like she was growing a spine and standing up to mom and dad.... but alas, she caved.

I think that came out in some of the Clinton Foundation Wikileaks emails.

It did come out of the Assange dump, but I think you've misinterpreted Chelsea's actions and state of mind. Here's my interpretation:

Chelsea is so friggin' dumb that she actually thought that some of the creeps around "her Mom and her Dad" were taking advantage of Bill and Hillary's influence and reputation in their shady dealings. So, she hired a straight-up, experienced foundation person to investigate what was going on.

Then Doug Band wrote the letter saying, "I've built up this organization, we've made millions, we employ 75 people, and who does Chelsea think she is? Who or what does she think paid for her wedding and her apartment?"

My interpretation wasn't that Chelsea was noble. Rather, I believe she was so f'n stupid she didn't know what the family business was, i.e., selling influence. She actually thought the Clinton Foundation was a charitable operation!

Not principled. Just stupid.

I had been hoping for some goodness in her, but I commend her into the Lord’s keeping, because I really think what you say squares with what is likely to be true. I was saying upthread that I’ve seen some stuff that makes me think not only as you say, she’s dumbbbb, but also may be going to her mother’s church. I do hope that isn’t true.
