With the Masters starting in just three weeks, the oddsmakers favorite to win the green jacket is now Tiger Woods. These odds are for the 2018 Masters, to be clear.
The move into solo position with the lowest odds for Augusta came on Thursday morning. Woods had an 8:23 a.m. ET tee time at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and hes spent much of the morning sharing the lead at Bay Hill. Woods went out with a 3-under 33 on the courses back nine, his best opening nine score at this event since 2007.

Bet “the Field” over Tiger Woods.
“His personal life sullied the idea of men in general...”
What a load of horseshit.
I watched him play last week, and it was impressive. On the fairway consistently, and his putter is almost all the way back. His wedge too. He missed one he wouldn’t have in 2008, where he put himself in a corner, with a bunker in front and a green sliding away from the far edge of the bunker. He was looking for the far fringe and caught the sand instead.
He’s pretty close to being back. I think this is a stretch, making him a favorite. This is a play, an overplay, for ratings.
It would have been enough to say ‘top 5’ and it would have done the same job in the ratings.
Didnt Tiger play golf with President Trump recently?
‘cept for the illegal drop at the 2013 Masters ? anybody else gets DQ’d.
What is he, about 90 years old now?
I still find the hatred for Tiger unfathomable, other sports stars, politicians, celebrities did the same or worse but for some reason, ridiculously there were a great many people that took it as a personal insult. Go Figure. Right now we a politician that cheated on his wife and treated women as property, and that’s all excused because...............?
So Eldrick is back...it was nice for the last few years watching golf again.
Thanks. I agree!
Lucky if he makes the cut.
I like this new version of Tiger Woods. He seems to have finally forgiven himself, and is now open, friendly, signing autographs for kids, and can hit a 185 mph ball into the fairway. He’s been through a lot, most his own making, but he’s out there again, doing something no other competitive golfer has done - golfing with a fused back. I for one will be cheering for him along with Rickie, Phil, Justin, Dustin and the others.
Of course not and they are probably not in the minority when it comes to faith of the PGA Tour members. I was referring to the marketing of their image apparel and the metrosexual tenor of the contemporary sports media of coverage of the young stars of the game. I’m old school and prefer the way the game was played and covered by the media in the ‘50’s and 60’s and would rather watch re-runs of Shell’s Wide World of Golf and Majors played when the greats were winning them. I’m not much into the twirling around and fist-bumping when a good shot is made or dropping a club or throwing it like a petulant child when a poor one comes off the clubface. Sorry if I offended.
I remember when Jordan Spieth won with an ALMOST record....
He miss the next-to-last putt, of about 4 feet, (which would have given him the recrdo) by about a foot.
Agree.
He never could have out fought Santino.
That’s a bit premature, IMO. Yeah, he had a good showing at his last tourney. Doesn’t mean he’s got what it takes to grab another green jacket. There are a lot of really good young players out there.
The penalty still cost him the tournament. You do know that they redesigned Augusta National after his first 2 victories there?
I bet they wouldn't be yelling "Get in the hole!!!!"
