The military keeps encountering UFOs. Why doesn’t the Pentagon care?

In December, the Defense Department declassified two videos documenting encounters between U.S. Navy F-18 fighters and unidentified aircraft. The first video captures multiple pilots observing and discussing a strange, hovering, egg-shaped craft, apparently one of a “fleet” of such objects, according to cockpit audio. The second shows a similar incident involving an F-18 attached to the USS Nimitz carrier battle group in 2004.

The videos, along with observations by pilots and radar operators, appear to provide evidence of the existence of aircraft far superior to anything possessed by the United States or its allies. Defense Department officials who analyze the relevant intelligence confirm more than a dozen such incidents off the East Coast alone since 2015. In another recent case, the Air Force launched F-15 fighters last October in a failed attempt to intercept an unidentified high-speed aircraft looping over the Pacific Northwest .

A third declassified video, released by To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science , a privately owned media and scientific research company to which I’m an adviser, reveals a previously undisclosed Navy encounter that occurred off the East Coast in 2015.

Is it possible that America has been technologically leap-frogged by Russia or China? Or, as many people wondered after the videos were first published by the New York Times in December, might they be evidence of some alien civilization?

Unfortunately, we have no idea, because we aren’t even seeking answers.

I served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence for the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations and as staff director for the Senate Intelligence Committee, and I know from numerous discussions with Pentagon officials over the past two years that military departments and agencies treat such incidents as isolated events rather than as part of a pattern requiring serious attention and investigation.

What’s your best guess? Who are they and why... why here?

Gut response...Something external to man has been involved with us as far back as our records go. Whatever it is does not seem to want to destroy us because it certainly could.

It has the ability to exist as a material presence, yet also has the ability to defy all of the laws of physics we have learned ... so far.

I believe some individuals have interacted with it at a personal level. There appears to be either multiple entities or multiple “personalities” if it is only one entity.

For religious individuals, God, Angels, devils, demons, would qualify. For non-religious individuals, alien races seems to work. Even up for consideration is we are expressions of a virtual reality.

Regardless....SOMETHING is out there. I think it is alien and it doesn’t interfere with my religious beliefs, in fact in some ways, it seems to support them.

NOW...what do you think?

Jacques Vallee seems to have some insights worth considering.

Another old codger with thoughts as crazy as mine. The more that comes out, the more depth of the reports of encounters, the more the “nuts and bolts” seems the least important.

What I have found interesting about myself is that I keep discovering these lines I draw....I can’t believe this encounter story...too batty...that person is certifiable, yet Travis Walton ... I believe. Go figure!

Here is my best guess at what is going on. In the years immediately after WW II, the US and the USSR both tried a shoot them down policy against provocative UFOs. This policy had to be abandoned after it led to a wave of retaliatory military and civilian aircraft losses and few UFOs brought down.

After further study, US experts accepted the ET hypothesis as likely valid, with a blue ribbon group advising that no official acknowledgement should be made due to the risks that the public would panic or that the UFOs would take aggressive measures if we acknowledged their existence publicly.

A long era of official public denial and various sham public UFO investigations followed, but it was coupled with intense secret US government study of UFOs, much of it piggybacking off increasingly sophisticated US strategic surveillance systems. Thus NORAD has long been the destination for reports generated by a secret US government UFO incident reporting channel.

The US has also sought to develop a defense capability against UFOs. It is said that recent technological advances now make that possible.

A gradual public acknowledgement of UFOs as real is likely seen now by the US government as timely due to the impending era of private space exploration and travel and the increasing availability of sophisticated imaging technologies for commercial and private use. Within a decade, readily available hyperspectral imaging cameras and image monitoring software will be able to scan the earth and skies for UFOs just as NORAD does.

The government is unlikely though to officially disclose the full extent of what it knows about UFOs. Instead, there will be various staged revelations that permit an official acknowledgement that, golly, UFOs seem to exist but do not represent a military threat to the United States.

I totally agree with this part... I don't believe they defy the laws of physics because I don't believe we know all the laws of physics at this point in our development. Yes, something is out there but it's not one thing. To treat it that way makes it too hard to explain or understand.

Bob Lazar revealed what is going on at Area 51.

And I believe him. He has been consistent over the years, his story never wavers, and he understands advanced physics.

He clearly has a graduate-level understanding, even though they claim to not have hi records.

Do I believe the government would delete them to discredit him? Absolutely- the government has done far worse THAT WE KNOW as a fact.

There are many similar stories from commercial pilots over the decades, easy to fin with a google search.

But they also say they’ve been silenced if they want to keep flying.

Probably because it was not real. If that did happen, a lot more than 12 people saw it. There would be hundreds of people seeing it.
