Well it wasn’t from the Washington Post or from NY Times, so it must not have been deliberate misinformation.
It was REPORTS from people who for one reason or another claimed to know, including an eye witness.
I give such reports no more credence than a rumor. Since I was not in Hawaii to see it, or hear it, I certainly can’t say for sure.
For that matter, I think it’s pretty clear that the “real” story reported by the news and authorities is BS as usual.
So I don’t assume that anything I read or post is factual, unless I have seen it or heard it with my own eyes. It would be a good idea if you do the same.
And where were you when someone posted on the weekend thread that UFOs attacked Admiral Byrd’s armada and he had to tuck tail and run home? I didn’t see any CARFUL warning there. No response at all - zip nada.
