Valspar Championship Leaderboard [Tiger Woods just one stroke off the lead]
MSN.com ^ | 09 March 2018

Tiger Woods is -4 under par after two rounds. The golf course is near Sarasota, FL. More than half the field is still on the course, so the standings will continue to change for several more hours. Most of the Top Ten pro golfers took this week off, so the competition is not as strong as it will be at the Masters, which is played the first week in April. Still, golf is ALWAYS more interesting when Tiger is playing well.

I wish him well .... but I’ll feel better if they check him for PEDs.

Thanks for the PGA Leaderboard link, Conserv.

My thread link to MSN has gone nutso.

First, it takes you to the scores for the 2017 U.S. Open.

Then, when you click on Valspar, it takes you to the MSN home page.

I grew up watching golf. My dad loved the game and won many trophies locally. I recall people like Fuzzy Zoeller and the guy who wore plaid and was killed in a plane crash( his name escapes me). I guess I like characters. I like Tigers attitude about race(Cablanasian) and the uncanny talent to pull off the impossible. Child prodigys have to burn out sometime, and Tiger had a historic run, but I’d like to see him smoke everyone off the course once more.

His dad was a bit of a dirtbag. Tiger’s parents were actually separated when he won the Masters in 1997, but kept it a secret.

Almost all the PGA golfers are Conservative straight shooters. I like the good guys. New stars like Jordan Spieth and his friend Justin Thomas are my favorites.

After almost 10 lost years, he could be on the verge of a comeback for the ages.

...

Not bad after he almost killed himself with painkillers and Xanax about a year ago (the traffic stop). It wasn’t the first time either.

Re: Plane crash

Payne Stewart.

He won three majors - the U.S. Open twice.

Funny you mention Fuzzy. It was the first time I had to wonder about Tiger when Fuzzy made a joke about Tiger having a Black ethnic type of dinner after he won the Masters and as custom would host the following year’s champions dinner. The media got all over Fuzzy for being racist and Tiger let him twist in the wind. As an outcome Fuzzy lost $$$ in endorsements. I thought that was rather cruel on Tiger’s part as he easily could have stood with Fuzzy, but didn’t.

He has faded over 4 days time & again in the last 10 years. A bad back & bad knees don’t go away, so I’m not expecting much, but he’s due.

He can certainly behave like a dirtbag, but I don’t think he’s totally bad based on some things I’ve read. He’s like a nerd who grew up to be a sports superstar. He’s still a nerd at heart.

We were scheduled for a visit but they canceled it for reasons unknown to us men. The ossifers probably knew.

Bump

He sets a terrible example for what a golf pro should be...cursing, throwing clubs, etc. I root against him every chance I get.

Maybe having his woman out of town for a couple of weeks helped his game. It certainly didn’t help hers.

Oh, well. Sill hoping he chokes.

There are only 34 Rules Of Golf.

Nope, there are 35:

Rule 35. Don't let your wife swing a 9 iron after she catches you being unfaithful.

Ask Tiger what the penalty is for that.

Yes, that was when Tiger showed his true character. He hasn’t done anything since then to change that first impression; in fact, he’s reinforced it over the years.

Agreed. Tiger IS golf. We all screw up. Some of of us bigger than others. I do not judge, but I damn sure will watch the best golfer who ever lived. Just follow the money... numbers don’t lie.

Eldrick is a disgrace to his family and himself.

I will pull for him to miss every cut.
