Having experience in the field of cancer detection, I do not advocate the HPV vaccine. It was tested on a cohort of women in France. These women were in their mid-20s. The recommended age group for this vaccine in this country is preteen. Go ahead with it, if you want, but there have been some deaths occur. And I am not anti-vaccine. I had our son vaccinated when he was a toddler, for all the viruses out there. I just have a feeling that the HPV vaccine was pushed too fast, so that the window between dr appointments could be lengthened. Women used to be afforded one Pap smear per year, by all the health insurance companies. Now women in their child bearing years are only afforded a Pap smear every three years. I really believe the Obama Admin decided to allow Merck to promote this vaccine (Gardasil) as a ‘silver bullit’ if you will. And a gullible public bought into it. Look up Gardasil (the most common vaccine) and Cervarix (the less common vaccine) and peruse the lawsuits. Just an FYI.

So, you would recommend women get a pap smear every year?

Thanks, One can be pro vaccination and still object to the push to have children vaccinated against HPV. I also object to the Hep B vaccine for adolescents. The assumption behind both of these is early sexual behavior.

“It was tested on a cohort of women in France.”

There are over 100 variants of HPV...approx 32 0f them are associated with cancer...the newest hpv vaccine still doesnt cover all of them...either total hpv or cancer associated hpv...the vaccine covers the most common...but if everyone keep spreading hpv, soon the least common variant may become prevalent..and bingo..the vaccine may not protect..people who.think.that they are safe may not be safe. And the disease will keep on spreading. Abstinence may be the only protection...sit on your hands and keep your mouth shut.

the industry/govt complex seems to be very quickly denying women what used to be standard care, coming up with the usual suspect "studies" showing something is not "really" necessary....

its like ambien....women will not be allowed to be prescribed 10mg very soon....TPTB came up with a study showing how women are affected by 10mg so now, only half a dose for you!

have they ever eliminated a test or a drug (like Viagra) for men?.....told them they didn't need prostate tests for example?..
