A college student in Connecticut landed in jail after she apparently didnt take a breakup well, police said.
Kathryn A. Mahoney, a Fairfield University student, was arrested Thursday for allegedly punching her boyfriend in the face when he suggested they stop dating, The Fairfield Citizen reported.
Police said Mahoney, 19, responded to being dumped by striking him in the stomach and nose, leaving him bleeding.

it seems ridiculous to me that this wound up in a NYC newspaper.
After perusing this thread:
How many passes should someone get before they kill someone else? How many passes did the Parkland school shooter get before his finale? Has she done this before?
How dare you “make me” fall in love with you, and then say you want to break up. /sarc
Your “feelings” have become all you need as vindication for your actions or actions you think someone else has no right to, because it upsets your “feelings”. Snowflakes are not just political, and the teaching, at colleges, that it is OK to be a snowflake, triggered by this and that everywhere (on political terms), has engendered the belief that the same “truth” - the rightness of how you feel - applies to social actions as well.
Wow, what a horribly formatted website!
There are guys who will pay good money to be beaten a bit by such a lovely young lady.
Better being disowned by you than risk being in jail. I could have seen her deciding to file a police report of him starting a fight with her, as further revenge.
I think he played it very smart. By being the first to file charges, and having a hospital record of having received injuries, he prevents HER from filing a police report of HIM having violently assaulted HER, which is a real danger these days. If he had resisted her assault in any way, he would have been arrested. This is the social reality today.
So you're saying that you find it understandable if a woman commits violence against a guy, because he decides to end a relationship with her? Not for cheating, mind you, but just because he decided to end the relationship? What would have been you viewpoint if the sexes had been reversed?
Men get upset when they've been financially supporting a woman, and find out she's been screwing hotter guys on the side. It makes them feel like she was using him. Does it give him the right to beat her up?
Back in college, I knew a couple who were living together. He worked a job, besides going to class, so he could pay for their room and food. She was screwing other guys on the side.
He found out, confronted her, and beat the crap out of her. Did she get what she deserved?
True word
When those big gals start throwing hands, you best set your mind to defending your waffle by any means necessary. Don’t expect any mercy.
No, I said that it is dangerous and evil to toy with someone’s heart.
Eros is powerful and the emotions are powerful.
They are not always contained.
Men and women.
Where do you see any indication of anyone "toying with someone's heart"? All we know, from the article, is that he decided he didn't want to date her any more. Guys are not allowed to end relationships? Only women are allowed to end relationships?
Hmmm, I don’t think you got any younger, sweetheart.
At mid-life, she turned to drugs, alcohol and became a party animal. The last straw was when she shot her BF in my kitchen and then shot my new refrigerator, this was just too much. Oh, BTW, neither the BF nor my fridge survived.
What an idiot. [The boyfriend, not the girl.] She seems personable, smart, cute and she is an athlete. What the heck was he thinking?
Boyfriend while still married to you?
Ex wife’s BF
