I do recommend that product engineers obtain a PO to bring back an item from an outlet for a spot check, and/or pull a random sample off the line for a look.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve FAILED a sample within a week’s product launch knowing full well the SWHTF when my report gets pushed up the chain.
Many times an engineer will come to me and produce an EMI report from an “accredited” EMC lab located in EBF-Zhou China purporting the devices meet FCC regs on ones I’ve busted.
Ummm...OK. Go with it! You are in my database as a FAIL, and from here on the risk is on you. I did my due diligence.
Let me tell ya...the FCC has no sense of humor especially since the advent of LED lighting. Ugly.
