Click the link to the 2007 coin and then the 2008, the change was very clear and I never saw any literature on it. I’ll check the golds too...
The 2007 and 2008 Silver Eagles look exactly the same to me, what is the change you are talking about ?

I was able to follow your links and was able to see close-up pix of both the 2000 and the 2008 and 2009 examples.
I did not see a difference. I’m sure that you have seen it, but I have somehow missed what you have found.
