Jan Gilbert, 72, was arrested on February 17 after showing up at the house
He told someone there he was writing a book about Hannity to gain entry
That person allowed him in and followed him into the seven-bedroom property
Hannity’s wife Jill was inside - she told the man once he got into the house
Police arrested him a short while later in his car and he was charged with misdemeanor trespassing
Gilbert insists it was a misunderstanding and that there is an explanation for his presence there - he just would not say what it was

Fox News host Sean Hannity had a follower walk into his Long Island, New York, home ― and he wasn’t welcomed. Former dentist Jan Gilbert, 72, of Long Beach, New York, was charged with trespassing after entering the conservative commentator’s house on the afternoon of Feb. 17, according to reports on Wednesday.
