Maybe Starr did have serious dirt on Clinton. The Clintons are full of dirty deals. But back in the day, ‘quidam’ didn’t stand a chance against “the powers that be”. People were not as ready to believe, they hadn’t been tyranized as much ( is that a word, tyranized? If not, it should be)
IIRC, there was a secure room where people could go look at the evidence, but they did not tell what it was. I always wondered if it didn’t have a lot more than the Monica stuff.
Senators weren’t going to find him guilty - already too compromised would be my guess.
