I was visiting at dinner about this with Darlin, who pointed out that there have been reports (NY Times?) that the kid lived only mile and 1/2 away from the school. If that is indeed that case, and he’s the perp, weapon could have been secreted away on or around school grounds prior. Don’t have an answer about what vehicles might or might not have been used by Cruz. There apparently have been other reports that Cruz was caught afterwards walking.
It’s all up in the air in my own mind. I think I’m going to let other finer minds solve this one..... but I’m certainly interested in the answers once they are obtained!
Interestingly, I never heard any reports about them contacting an Uber driver about it.
Also, I could swear that I saw them (helicopter camera overhead) removing him from a vehicle when he was arrested that afternoon.
Maybe the Uber story was bogus? I have no idea, but I find it interesting that this aspect hasn't been fleshed out... at least not that I have seen.
I have been reading that Cruz was living in Lantana, FL at the time of this event. Lantana is about 30+ mile north and east of Parkland, so the story about him walking to the school (which is another one that I heard) is likely to be untrue.
