This has been going on my entire life. Remember when the way you got a mortgage was to go to the savings and loan in your town, the depositors in which were local citizens.
And what happened. Banking crisis after banking crisis they went belly-up and were taken over. Where did the assets go - they didn't go away, they were transferred to bigger and bigger entities, like Citibank, which itself got bailed out many times and ended up in the hands of - hold on - the Saudis??????
And who were some of the scoundrals in this crisis - oh my, the Bushes.

Question: What exactly are all these super rich people doing with all this money and why? Seriously.
Yeah, I’d love to have a boatload of money and there are definitely some things I’d buy, but after a certain point, then what? Yeah, I could put the money to work to cure diseases, to lift people from poverty, to educate, .... so many good things. But these people are not - for the most part - doing that. So what ARE they doing?
Even if their main goal is something evil, don’t they have more than enough money to indulge that?
