So this “death-by-book-bag-carrying-teen” stuff was not so prevalent when we announced to our families 30 years ago that we would be HOMESCHOOLING our children, with God’s help. We recognized that we could only count on the government-run indoctrination centers (”public schools” in the words of MSM) to undermine our values and what we believed.
Of course all of our parents and most relatives thought we were bat$h!t krazy. So we had a lot of tough years and fights and stress over the years - and that was with our kids. But keeping them out of that whole publick skool environment has been worth it.
Nowadays there are a lot more options, and a good bit more support for homeschooling families (in most states).
Your kids are just a means to an end for the politicians and the teachers’ unions. Your kids deserve better.

Parkland is listed as an upscale neighborhood. Are their children not worth protecting? Where was the school security I frequently read about? Why wasn’t there at least one designated teacher allowed or required to carry? Another report I saw said two hours passed between onslaught and capture. Why did it take two hours and what happened during that time frame? There are lots of questions to be answered but I doubt we will get timely answers.
I have a good friend in Parkland with sons in this high school. They are ok, but their FB feed is filled with shares of parents posting pictures of their kids asking for help in finding them. Heartbreaking and devastating.
