Not familiar with that, other then generally as a significant part of the northern offensives.

My favorite knowledge of that time and general area was the Battle of the Bulge. WWII vets who I served with in RVN said the great undisclosed “secret” of that battle was that early German success was mainly due to a large number of troops from what everyone thought was a “safe” area being AWOL in Paris “for the Holidays”!

Where was the scam in the Hurtgen Forrest?”

Scam run by FR person claiming that they were there and part of the action. Looooooooooong time ago...back in the early FR days.

I didn’t follow it but it was a phony person in combat.I even think they-the Freepers were sending care packages to them.

DeepintheHurtgenForest was the handle of some dude who pulled some crap here.

Did any of those guys experience any of the Nazi lead elements utilizing night vision and Xenon illuminators? They had some armor fitted with it and it was apparently pretty one sided wherever they were used in the wee hours early on.
