in the case of the parade story - where did that come from? Did Sarah Sanders pitch in press beating? No. It surfaced somewhere and was fed to +/- by the media with accompanying narrative that it shows Trump's a dictator, etc., etc..

I first considered pitched by deep state ala the Porter resignation aimed at disruption and taking out Gen. Kelly. It also serves as distraction or possible leak outings or covering accompanying resignation. But you note another possible implication or purpose being to accompany any possible activity here in homeland ala people may see operations ongoing and dismiss ala 'must be parade preparations' ... TBD ;)
