I can’t say any more than I’ve already said. I was raised in the church and have been active/around Christians all my life. I’ve never heard a Christian call anyone but Jesus their savior. I personally have never called anyone but Jesus my savior. Honestly, that’s the extent of it from my POV.

If others find this usage normal and natural, then that’s how it is for them. It sounds way off to me.

It certainly does--in English, at least.

Though I know of one man--or daughter, I forget--maybe it was in a Maya Angeleau book--The young teen was talking to their friend and mentioned "By the way..." The mother washed her mouth out with soap because THE WAY could only be used reverently about Jesus--in the mother's construction on reality.
