Feb. 5 (UPI) -- SAG- and Tony-winning actor John Mahoney died in Chicago at the age of 77, his publicist announced Monday.
The publicist confirmed to TMZ Mahoney's death in hospice care Sunday. No cause was specified in the report.
I worked with John on “Frasier” and he was one of the nicest people on the earth. In fact, the whole cast was awesome. He will be missed. My heart hurts tonight.
You should come out of lurkdom! And eat a sandwich! Lol.
Thanks for the compliments.
Roz is very funny, though she is used a lot for various plot sidetracks, which is frustrating. She always comes through and she is so real and believable. My favorite Roz episodes are the one where Frasier comes to Wisconsin with her and shuts up her obnoxious sister, and the one where she realizes Bulldog is actually falling in love with her, and gives him an out for him to save face.
Oh, she was a horrid character. I didnt realize he was directing them then. He did a great job. He knew that character inside and out.
Everyone whos worked for him seems to be saying that. How wonderful to have worked on one of the best shows ever. Im sorry to all those who really did know him. Hugs to you. We all are watching Frasier episodes tonight, trying to pick out the best Martin episodes.
I DO remember the episode. I think Daph is in the little kitchen in the middle of the night with the wrong character, it seems. I dont remember the dads dream, darn it. I still record Frazier on Hallmark channel.
And don't forget In The Line of Fire (1993).
“Please dont tell me Carol OConner was a poof.”
No, he was not.
My mother went to college with him at the University of Montana and he married one of my mothers sorority sisters @ KKG.
Apparently the brides mother complained, openly, that Carol would never amount to anything...
I agree. That episode was one where you pump the air and scream Yes.
Maybe I’ll be more vocal in the future.
Thats it. They are all in the tiny kitchen for their dreams and you cant tell at first a) if the segment is dream or real and b) whose dream it is. The little ending blurb is very funny too.
You can see all the episodes on both Netflix and Hulu but sometimes I just watch on hallmark too.
Thanks, Yaelle! Will be thinking of ya as I tune in on this next collection of recorded shows!
Cheers to Frazier.
My ALL TIME fav is niles and the flaming ironing board!!!! And is burned finger!! Keeps passing out!
David Hyde Pierce was awesome with the physical comedy. Yes!
Still, I think he cold break my heart or crack me up with his line delivery. I think that was his genius. Obviously a very smart man. Some of his scenes with his true love Daphne before she knew his secret feelings really could bring a tear to my eye. Or when he would be exposed to something she was inadvertently being sexy doing, his lusts on his face, so funny.
Last night we were picking out great episodes with lots of good Marty. And we came to the one that had Daphne trying on her fiancé Donnys moms wedding dress. It was like a bikini with go go boots from his moms third wedding in the 1960s in Vegas. Niles has just said that he had just given money to a bum on the street and maybe he was a magic genie... then Daphne comes out in this sexy dress... under his breath Frasier asks Niles just how much he gave the bum. So funny.
ROTFLOLOL!
Laughter is a God send!!! How funny!!
Personally I liked the show. Like Mike Brady, when you find out he’s not who you thought he was, opinions change.
