I worked on preparations for a meet and greet for a conservative Republican running against a liberal Republican in a statewide primary election.
I cooked, washed dishes and ironed table linens. It was great fun compared to watching football.
Supper, 5:00 PM Mass, bought groceries, entered data from the 1949-1998 Russian Polar Ice Station Global Horizontal and Direct Solar Radiation Data into the spreadsheet to compare with the 1996 radiation surveys at latitude 72-78 north .. Wife (chemistry teacher) adjusted student laboratory table registrations to avoid cheating and student fights.
You know, the usual Sunday evening activities.
I watched PBS travel shows and drank martinis.
Having no idea when the Super Bowl was broadcast I really don’t know, but we certainly didn’t watch.
I believe mostly HGTV was on in our house as most every time I passed the den where the TV is one of their shows was on. Mrs. RQSR controls the remote.
Worked on finishing a very fine pair of hand knit socks for my sister.
Also watched some interesting youtubes about the bond market, and our humongous budget problems, what with derivatives and all.
Then, decided another sister needed a pair of hand-knit socks for her birthday coming up at the end of March, and got out the skein winder and ball winder.
Wound a hank of beautifully hand dyed sock yarn from The Woolen Rabbit - Harmony Sock Yarn, in color way “Rose Quartz”, into a “yarn cake”.
This means there are two ends to knit with. An inside end, and an outside end.
I will knit two socks at once on a very long circular needle. One started from the inside end, and one started from the outside end. I will start from the toes, and knit my way up the feet, then increasing and turning the heels on both pair, and then knit up the legs to the bind off point at the top of the socks.
Both socks are a perfect match, and fit perfectly.
So that’s what I did instead of watching a bunch of over-paid muscle-bound men who have only a limited ability to understand that athletic ability doesn’t really matter much in life, unless we settle disputes in an arena.
I feel sorry for them, for they seem like traveling circus exhibits that we all pay admission to go and stare at.
What bewilders me is why so many assumably intelligent people would pay so much money to go to a stadium in a very cold place - (I live here in the twin cities, and won’t go outside until it warms up) - pay so much money, stand in so many long lines, to waste their time watching a bunch of steroid-using, muscle bound, female abusing, thugs trying to hurt one another in a highly structured game that has nothing to do with success in daily life.
Sometimes I wonder about the fall of the Roman Empire, and when they distracted the populace with gladiators. lions, and feckless Christians.
Probably better got look that up tomorrow - to see where we are on the timeline.
Watched the Weather Nation Channel and “How Its Made” on the science channel.
Who won?
I went shopping in an Electronics Store.
It was peaceful and quiet.
I don’t miss all those kneelers.
Very cool! I make baskets...can use this :)
Watched “Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs”. It’s quite something.
Glad the Eagles won. They gave the glory to God!
I took my French Bulldog, Louie to the beach: Dog Beach.
It was over 80 degrees here in San Diego today.
watched smurfs with the kids. heard part of the game on radio though.
The only kneelers I saw this evening were in church, went to 5:00 pm Mass.
Watched the Puppy Bowl. None of the players kneeled, but a couple of them did appear to squat as they were relieving themselves.
Watched three episodes of “The Tudors”.
Went out for a late lunch, shared a sinful dessertchocolate fall cakewhich is not on my diet.
Watched some Puppy Bowl. No cop killers or nip slips at half time. Just kittens, chickens, piglets and a sloth.
The only part I regret not seeing is the 94 year old veteran of Iwo Jima.
I had eggs Benedict for lunch at Bobby’s follow by a chocolate chip cookie and milk at my work desk while browsing Free Republic and yearning for a nap.
I did some sewing and made super burritos for the fam.
Read a book.
Football free season.
Played video games and watched a DVD of Hell’s Kitchen.
Watched a horror movie called “The Conjuring”
