It’s a bombshell development in a 45-year-old cold case mystery.
A commercial airplane hijacker escaped with a daring parachute jump in 1971 and was never seen again.
A team of private investigators says it has cracked a code that it says shows the infamous hijacker who went by the name D.B. Cooper is, in fact, a man who lives in San Diego named Robert Rackstraw.
Rackstraw is a former Stockton resident, whose family also lived in Calaveras County.

Some of the money (serial #s matched) was found on a riverbank by a kid, just a few years after the jump.
A parachute found some years ago and thought to be the Cooper chute was not a match.
IMHO, the late Kenny Christiansen was D.B. Cooper.
They have an explanation as to why they money was there.
That thought did occur to me, but the crew felt a thump and the plane pitched upward at a certain time. When a team recreated this by throwing a 200lb sled out of the back of a 727, the same exact thing occurred.
If he was Cooper couldn’t he just admit it now?
And become rich and famous.

They did a John Doe indictment, which allows you to issue a warrant based on a description. Now they can even get one based on a DNA profile.

I thought hijacking a plane was a capital crime. Wouldn’t that mean no SOL?
Well if he was 30 years old that would make him 77 years old now.. Since it was 47 years ago. He might be in his 80’s. Yea he still could be alive if he survived the jump into the jungle down there in the dark.

Why do they keep saying “D.B.”? The hijacker used the name Dan Cooper.
Doesn’t the FBI have DNA from the hijacker’s tie? Why no mention of that?
Ol’ D.B. has a striking resemblance to the Zodiac Killer, the Unabomber description, others.

And just for laughs, the person who confessed to the Jack the Ripper murders was hanged nearly 129 years ago.
Pretty soon, the FBI won’t even need DNA. Just dodgy intel buffed into an official dossier. Then, boom- indicting a President.
