Two and a half weeks before the release of Black Panther, excitement for the film is palpable. The title character, who leads the fictional African nation of Wakanda as King TChalla and doubles as his realms superhero protector, was first introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016s Captain America: Civil War, but his roots stretch back through decades of comics. Whether fans are inspired by the new films or longtime readers, theyre clearly ready to come out in droves for their hero: Fandango announced Wednesday that advance ticket sales for Black Panther have eclipsed every other superhero movie ever at the same point in the sales cycle.

Fake news. This is all spin to promote Hollywood’s racist agenda. I suspect this will flop despite the hype.
Hope some audience members dont act out their superhero fantasies on other audience members.
One theater chain was encouraging those who go to this film to donate to black causes. Dont remember something similar to that with other films!

You can almost smell the Hollywood propaganda machine at work.
You can almost write the theater shooting/riot headlines before they happen.
Why wouldn’t young people be excited? Everyone should chill out until the movie comes out. It might be a great movie with a positive role model. With strong male characters in short supply in Hollyweird, I’m surprised by some of these comments.
Hey, man. I already saw an advance screening.
I wore a football helmet and brought a piece of one inch steel pipe with me wrapped up in a section of the NY TIMES. What a great time we all had.
I got in a couple good hits with my pipe before I lost it and had my helmet torn off. Then I got stabbed a couple times in the forehead and bit on the hand.
Out on the street I got me a free sixpack and a real cool wide screen TV, but by the time I got it home it was broken.
I’m waiting for the White Panther movie, sorry.
Black Lives Matter has a movie ?
Doubt it will flop, but like AntMan before, I will likely just watch it whenever it comes on Cable.... No real interest in the character.
I was pleasantly surprised by the DC version of the black superhero shows initial episode on CW.. it clearly had some cliche’s that were stupid, but wasn’t too bad... but they lost me on episode two when they made sure to introduce the token sodomite..... Shame too... it seemed to actually not be a complete pandering or condescending, and also didn’t just come off as angry black man either...
Black audiences come out in droves for movies starring a predominently black cast (Girls Trip, Get Out). Plus die hard Marvel fans usually see it opening weekend.
The BLM crowd can’t afford to feed their kids but can afford to buy movie tickets and $10 buckets of popcorn.
LOL
It won’t be a flop. It has the same creative team behind all the other Marvel movies. There will be significant interest in this movie. I expect this movie to pull a billion. It won’t be the biggest Marvel movie ever, but it will be up there.
D.C. comics crying again. How can marvel kick D.C. Over and over.
The audiences will be mostly white. It’s a marvel movie so people will see it regardless of the social message. Garbage on the big screen these days.
Yawn. I can’t be the only one who is sick of PC comic book movies.
