Yeah, it’s more like “what He’ll do” in my case. As far as I can tell, he’s totalitarian, even if He DID give us free will. When he’s omniscient, not to mention omnipotent, having free will is literally irrelevant because He can’t be supplanted or defeated or even harmed in any way, he’s untouchable. In fact, my view of God, or at the very least someone who is omnipotent, is closer to someone who boasts to His creation “I have the greatest power in existence! You might as well be the dirt on the bottom of my shoes, or the dirt stuck to the bottom of that dirt!” Heck, God can even manipulate people into doing what he wants DESPITE their free will (and when I think of free will, I think rebellion, willful rebellion, not servitude). I mean, if I were God, I’d give my creation free will and even with that I’d STILL force them to do my bidding with constant threats of what would happen if they disobey me, precisely because they literally have no chance at stopping me anyways even WITH their free will and thus don’t see any reason to be nice to my creation.

My view of God is closer to a nightmare, and ultimately the roots for that lay with the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark. That as well as these bits:

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrVThXFnE1s (Ocelot’s bit is on 3:13 where he makes apparent how the Patriots are all knowing, though watching from start to finish would aid somewhat);

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKl6WjfDqYA (main action starts on 0:12);

*http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/914506-the-document-of-metal-gear-solid-2/faqs/28220 (f is especially noteworthy, though the other scenes have hints towards the Patriots’ involvement as well);

*http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/914506-the-document-of-metal-gear-solid-2/faqs/27630 (Again, the specific sections g, h, i, j, o, p, q, r, t, u, x, y, bb, cc, dd are particularly noteworthy to read, although you may need the script and possibly videos for the complete picture);

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKpFFD7aX3c (Architect scene);

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-cdwDnryY0 (Kefka scene, 0:25 start);

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOuk02e5q5s (Pay particular attention to Frieza’s overall reaction to this. Also, bear in mind, the Saiyans were particularly vile bloodthirsty brutes who enjoyed fighting and exterminating other races, so they had it coming);

*https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdJSUMZ_HtY (0:07-0:52, particularly important is the bit where Weil, the main villain, says “Dr. Weil: The desire for power. The joy of making everything work for you. You have no way of experiencing this without a human being. It’s the ultimate joy! No mere Reploid could ever understand!”, and Reploids are basically androids with free will);

Yeah, I’ve got issues that need resolving fast.

You sometimes hear people ask “What is the best form of government?”, but seldom hear “What is the perfect one?”, because you can’t have a perfect system that includes imperfect humans. Democracy has its flaws, just fewer ones than in a dictatorship, because there are more safety checks against the worst abuses of power. Dictatorship would actually be the perfect system if it had a perfectly benevolent dictator with absolute power. Heaven is the only perfect form of government.
