Sen. Tammy Duckworth will make history when she becomes the first sitting senator in history to give birth later this year, her office said Tuesday.

The Illinois Democrat announced she is expecting her second child in the spring.

seriously how many things can she truly juggle at once and do any of them well.

I hope she and child are ok through pregnancy and birth but how many exceptions will have to be made so she can maintain senate job and whatever else is in her life like her other child, family etc.

Senators (all in higher govt offices) should be largely devoted to that service, not spread so thin as many are.

She's had some rough times during her life. Appears to be a survivor.
