When I was a kid, and a comic was 12 cents, if that sort of bullshit was in the comic I would have freaked!

"When I was a kid," I was even a little creeped out by Gumby!

I started earlier, when they were a dime.

Never was much of a Superman fan. Much more Batman, Blackhawk and Sgt. Rock of Easy Co.

Started with Marvel when they went to 12 cents. Big Jack Kirby fan with Captain America, Iron Man and Sgt. Fury And His Howling Commandos.

Later with Jim Steranko and Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD.

I remember comic books at 10 cents. Then 12 cents, then 15 cents.
If they did not sell, the store would tear off the top of the cover page and send it back for a refund while the comic book was to be destroyed.

If you knew where to look you could often find comics with mutilated covers for as little as 7 cents.

But then, that was back in the 1960s before the libs took over the comic industry.
