Sorry - it’s my fault. Q’s name has evolved and I can’t remember the evolution. Q Clearance was an early version. Q Anon was in use at some point. I note that he/she signs their name as “Q”. Your question actually calls attention to an extremely important point: There are pretenders, deep state disinformation campaigns who claim to be Q. I will try to track down the evolution/name to help make sure FReepers don’t fall into the snares set for those seeking the truth. You can always check the link I’ll post here - that is until the deep state hacks that page! Ha! Good question though.
Thank you for your detailed answer. Please don't apologize for any "fault"! You are doing your best with a complicated "messaging system" (for lack of a better term, I guess).
So "Q" or "Q Anon" isn't exactly like a FReeper name that you cannot deviate from?
4chan, where this began, got overrun with junk posters, so Q moved to 8chan.
Q had some difficulties there, and had a post to the effect that the integrity of the board could not be assured, so "rigging for silent running".
Somewhere about that time, a fake Q showed up, posting with a tripcode which was identical to Q's tripcode, except for a leading blank.
Then the board owner apparently got compromised, and called Q a "f*cking teenage {something or other}".
Q's response to that was "Did they get to you too? Board compromised."
Q then posted he was in control of the tripcode which verified his identity, and promised that the verification of this was that he would no longer post to that board (if someone else had the tripcode, they could post any time they liked).
Q went to another board, and had his authenticity confirmed by C!odemonkey (IIRC the name right) who was the author of the software powering the boards, by examining the board logs and matching the IP addresses of Q's new posts to his old posts.
Somewhere during this timeframe, they went to a larger, much harder to crack tripcode, and the algorithm behind the old tripcode was explained; also I believe they said something about forgetting to include capital letters in the algorithm so they had to do it one more time.
Then they set up a dedicated board for Q posts, a separate one for discussion, and the public site https://qcodefag.github.io for his new posts going forward.
You have the helm, ransomnote. Feel free to annotate this with screenshots and make any corrections to my memory. :-)
“Q Clearance”
Interesting a person would choose that moniker since it is a Department of Energy equivalent of a Defense Department Top Secret clearance.
