there was speculation that it could be due to "rubber rounds" fired at the buses. Of course it would have to be someone firing a gun using rubber bullets, because there just aren't enough rocks and bricks to be thrown and they just don't sound as bad.

...an additional 30-45 minutes of commute time in each direction for some riders. Sounds like they're avoiding I280 now according to the article. It's hard to believe taking US101 would add that much time but I haven't been out there for over 20 years. Maybe surface streets?
