(Meredith) The owner of a Chick-Fil-A in North Dakota has apologized after a mother claims the restaurant kicked her out for breastfeeding without a cover.
Macy Hornung said she was nursing her child at a Fargo Chick-Fil-A when the franchise owner approached her Saturday evening. She said the owner asked her to cover up or leave the restaurant.
I was showing no more than the upper portion of my breast, barely more than what was visible in my shirt, and (she) asked me to cover, Hornung wrote on Facebook. I tried to explain that I couldnt because my baby refuses to be covered.
The mom said the owner also reminded her that men and children were dining at the restaurant.
I said they could practice the simple art of looking away She told me if I chose not cover, then she would have to ask me to leave, Hornung wrote.
Instead of complying with the owners request, Hornung decided to pack up her things and leave. Her husband, Casey Hornung, said he was outraged over the incident.
"I was angry for the words that woman spoke, he told WDAY-TV. I was angry at the way my wife was treated. I was worried about her, and how she was feeling.
The couple shared their story on Facebook when they returned home, and the post quickly went viral.
Hundreds of people who sided with the mom left bad reviews on the restaurants Facebook page and gave the location one-star ratings.

You are entitled to that opinion. How a twelve year old handles sexual abuse would be different than that of a grown woman. That initial reaction probably would determine whether she ever reported it or when she would report it. Abusers are very adept at making victims feel guilty and responsible for their abuse. This will keep some silent for many years.
I should make clear I am not one of those “Women never lie about abuse” people. Women lie plenty and are probably better at it than men because we has a society have been told to doubt them is some great mutual sin. My argument was and remains, “Who a woman is now should have no bearing on how we judge allegations of what happened to her when she was a child.”
For courtesy I think it better we not discuss the Dushku post on this thread.
Not in the least.
Bring a cloth or wear nursing tees or two shirts and all is well. I know FReepers like to joke, but when your baby is hungry he deserves to breastfeed, even in restaurants. And, yes, even if you dont find the mother attractive. Did your mother look like a Barbie doll?
I breastfed 3/4 of my kids and I was always discreet. But other people need to butt out. As long as the mom intends to be discreet, others around need to understand that a swift dexterous baby hand can whip off a cover for a sec or the mom could be reaching for something. Deal with it. Give a precious momma a break.
The Woman is an obvious attention whore. That’s the problem.
She opened herself up to ridicule the moment she decided to cause a problem (don’t think that wasn’t her intent) in Public.
She could have easily been more discreet or Nursed her Child before she went into a Public Restaurant to eat.
That or simply cover up as to not offend others who do not share her viewpoints on Public Nursing. She is playing the Exhibitionist SJW Victim Card.
Her “excuse” that her Baby doesn’t like to be covered is like saying her Toddler doesn’t like Diapers as he craps all over the Restaurant floor.
GOOD!
I hear you, sister.
Not at all. She is not attractive to me.That can be discerned quickly.
Yes, but he'd be terrified the whole time...
Oh noes!!!
Link, please?
“S’cuse me while I whip this out ...”
Witches will do anything to make Chick-Fil-A or President Trump look bad.
What's really amazing is that some guy did. At least once.
Sorry, I don’t have a link. You may be able to find it doing a search under “True Lies Actress” or “Dushuku”.
I think the fact that both men and women often find themselves instantly attracted or not attracted to a particular person is proof we are meant to be monogamous.
I hope you have the one for you.
I think when taking a child of any age who is not able to order off the menu to a restaurant it is best to feed them beforehand. It does not take that long to eat at Chik-fil-A so this should not have been a problem. Did you go after dragging the child all over pillar and post knowing he would likely get hungry? That is very poor planning and inconsiderate of your own baby’s needs.
Babies deserve a relaxed environment to nurse in. I support the right of nursing moms and don’t think they should be forced to cold cars or smelly restrooms. But I fail to see how a restaurant dining room is the best place for a baby to nurse. How can you properly interact with your baby in such an environment?
I totally disagree with your diaper comparison.
I do. She’s great.
Be sure to tell her that every chance you get. And congrats.
