After an armed man entered a Popeye’s restaurant in San Antonio last month and reportedly pointed a gun at a customer’s children, that customer — a licensed concealed carrier — shot the gunman dead.

But now the mother of the deceased 19-year-old gunman is asking why the father who fatally shot her son chose to fire more than once.

What does it matter if he fired 1 or 10 times?
If he had a legally right to shoot the person he had the legal right.

This is an easy answer. He’s got a gun and so it has to be assumed he’s willing to use it. So you have to make sure the gunman is completely incapacitated and unable to shoot and given the lethality of the weapons involved, death is almost the certain result.
