I'm not too sure about that. I've got a Shetland Sheepdog that loves freezing cold weather, particularly if there's snow. I wouldn't, however, leave him out for an extended period of time.
Not true at all. How did dogs and cats survive prior to domestication by humans? How do feral dogs and cats survive? Untold generations of their ancestors survived without human assistance. What is cold to humans is not necessarily cold to pets. Pets should be protected from extremes but our temperature tolerances are not good representations of theirs.
