If its too cold for you its too cold for your pets. I'm not too sure about that. I've got a Shetland Sheepdog that loves freezing cold weather, particularly if there's snow. I wouldn't, however, leave him out for an extended period of time.

The first dog I adopted after I became economically independent was a cross between a black Lab and an Irish Setter. He looked like a jet black Golden Retriever. His happiest moments came when it snowed heavily where we lived, a Milwaukee suburb. When I opened the door in the morning on a fresh, heavy snowfall, he'd charge out, go into convulsions of joy, and leave the front yard looking like the Russian army had been doing Winter maneuvers.
