If you could have lunch with anyone in history, living or dead, who would it be?

Stompin' the Savoy is about the Savoy in Harlem.
Different Savoy.

Adam...If I chose him, I’d be saying...Adam, what the heck was you thinking. Because you couldn’t control your wife and ate that apple, has caused mankind a LOT of pain and misery.
My dad. He never met my wife. What a joy it would be for them to meet. My wife has heard countless stories about him over the years. My dad was a tough hombre but very family oriented. He would have treated my wife like gold. They probably would have tag-teamed against me when I got outta line.

You can talk with him any day, all day...and all night.
That's the way he operates.

Agree, and I will see him in Heaven
I do talk to him everyday all day through the Holy Spirit
God Bless you My Brother in Christ
Amen

Well I think the why is obvious. She couldn't deal with the responsibility of either marriage or child rearing. I know that is a simplistic answer and falls far short of your desire for answers. But it is only destructive to keep harboring anger. You must let it go & move on. One thing you can rest assured about is that it was not because of you. Had she accepted her responsibility I'm sure she would have loved you as a parent should love their child.
All I can say is be thankful for what you do have and build onto that. No one leads a perfect life. We all have our trials & tribulations. Some unfortunately have an excess of those trials & tribulations, and you have certainly had a considerable amount with your misfortune of having two parents who were not good parental material. Perhaps though it made you realize the importance of being a good parent and you turned out to be a great parent. Since I don't know your whole life story I can only hope that was the case.
Seek out God, as he is the best parent a man or woman can possess, and may he bless your days moving forward.

Buckley would indeed be an interesting person to break bread with. Good choice.

I would love to have dinner with 8 people - Ronald Reagan, Jesus, Thomas Edison, George Washington, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett, Samuel Colt and Abe Lincoln. Imagine what I could learn from them. Heck, I’d need a table that would seat 25 to 30 people.

Teddy Roosevelt was probably the greatest American, next to some of the Founders like Washington, Adams, Franklin, etc.
Big movie coming soon, doubt 5% of Americans have any idea of what he accomplished.

John the Baptist. I'd love to meet with John the Baptist, but upon looking at the menu (Matthew 3:4), I'll pass on lunch.

Deceased choice: William F. Buckley Jr. Done that--although it was a dinner, not lunch, at a Young Americans for Freedom confab. The entree was, of course, rubber chicken.
