In what has become an annual, Christmas Eve tradition of sorts, I wonder if anyone else out there is spending your Christmas Eve solo.
I suppose we're never really alone if we have FR and the wonderful people who make up the membership here.
Merry Christmas, everyone.

No, I didn’t. Next time I will. Grilling a good steak is a bit of a passion.

can't go wrong there....
I'm not alone but sometimes I feel lonely, if that makes any sense....
I think about the Christmases as a child and young adult and they were wonderful....since I moved to be in my husband's home state 3000 miles away, it has never ever been the same, much as I try...and then I go thru my usual cycle of regret for moving out here.
40 yrs mind you......
I do miss my brothers and sister and their children and the traditions they carry on as we all grew up with but are so different from what I experience now...
I miss my church..
I miss loving nieces and nephews...
I miss pierogi's on Christmas Eve....
but God bless us everyone....we must learn to bloom where we are planted...

Brig. Gen. James Stewart is an excellent actor but the story is too farfetched for me. I stopped believing in happy endings a long time ago.

Indeed. My work keeps me on and off the local subway system throughout the day and there were two long closures with trains shut down both ways for hours this week where they described it as a personal injury at track level. It doesn’t take much to guess these were suicides by subway during the week leading up to Christmas. The cleanup would for sure take many hours.

Merry Christmas all! Not really alone, but in away, yes. I am a single person. But blessed to be sharing a home with my father and youngest (in college) daughter. My daughter has a friend and her teen brother nearly living with us these days too. They had some home issues. We are a hodge-podge group. Like my pets are, we are all like the island of misfit toys. I enjoyed giftwrapping and cooking today, along with my traditional movies that pick me up. And YES, main one was, "It's a Wonderful Life"! That is my tradition. For dinner I made Gumbo and Beignets. I am going to make that a new part of my Christmas celebrations. I make new things part of it all the time. As I need to refocus the alone thing too. Not alone, but sort of, yeah. But not really either. Right now, have the tv tuned into Christmas music station showing the pets run in front of a fireplace and Christmas decorations. Even just had a little pig! . Never saw that before. Normally they just show the cats and dogs stuff. Because hey, who doesn't love to see that. Very Christmassy. Hugs and a Very Merry Christmas to All of FR Family!!!

pierogies & kielbasa - can’t go wrong. I’m having everyone work through my chunk of scrapple the next few days...

I’m alone tonight, but I’m not feeling particularly lonely. Earlier this evening I made a tasty meal of shrimp, orzo and feta cheese and washed it down with a nice pinot grigio. Tomorrow my Christmas dinner will be fairly simple, just a sausage and lentil stew that will yield leftovers for the rest of the week. One advantage of living alone is that I can cook whatever I feel like eating!
Right now I’m listening to some CDs I bought as gifts for myself. I splurged on a bunch of albums from Alice Cooper’s back catalog. It’s an Alice Cooper Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you all!
