How painful. I've seen a lot of great wins and painful losses in my 71 years. This was pretty damn painful. Ugh!
For all you Freepers who may have the inclination to post some remark about hating the NFL .... don't bother. Your comment is not necessary.. This is merely about football, football officiating, and not politics.
Thanks in advance.

My view is that the rules states he must control the ball to the ground. When his knee hits he is on the ground, and the catch is over. The lunge is not part of the catch and the TD was scored the second he broke the plane.

They just mentioned on the Sunday Night Football warmup that that’s a touchdown at any level of football but the NFL, based on an arcane rule change in, I believe they said, 2010.

Carolina won today’s game with Green Bay because of a bogus touchdown that even the announcers were disputing. The NFL is a pile of dung these days.

As a Cowboy fan, I have no skin in this game. According to the way the NFL rules are stated now, he dropped the ball.
Steeler-nation should be more bent about Rothliesberger throwing into triple coverage.

I thought it looked like the ball was bobbled when his hand hit the ground after completing the catch.

I’m sorry you paid good $$$ to see it in person.

Nice try old man but if you are still watching this charade and taking it seriously then you deserve whatever pain this bogus call delivers.

I didn't see the game - given the events of the Tuck Rule game, I'm glad I didn't have to see another game with a controversial officiating decision handing a game to the Pats.
But as a 49ers fan, I did want to say thanks to Belichik for the QB - Garoppolo is playing well for us.

You and Dez Bryant agree.

How bout them Rams?
yeah, Steelers were robbed. Great game though. Much better game than the dismantling of the Weehawks by LA

I didn’t see the game and I, like a lot of people nowadays, don’t give a shit. The NFL sucks.

One correction....TWO BAD CALLS. That last interception was due to pass interference.

I think it was a catch, but not a touchdown. He had full control when his knee hit the ground. Ball on the 1-yard line.

I’m a NE fan and like the Steelers, but there were robbed. I cannot understand how that was not a catch and crossed the end zone with control of the ball.

I hate the Steelers but must admit that the call at the end of the game was complete BS. At any other level of football (Pee wee to college) that would have been a touchdown. The NFL continues to be stupid in so many ways.
