When there is as much gold as lead in the world, then gold will have the same value as lead. it’s rarity is what gives it value. Ok, it is also glittery to the eyes.

Usefulness gives the gold much more value. Gold is malleable ductile, resistant to most acids, pretty, non-toxic, and a great conductor. Lead, no matter how rare, fails at all that.
