I once asked a spook in his cups if UFOs are real. He said yes, and they’re ours.
The problem with the idea that they are ‘ours’ is that these things have been seen since long before we had even the technology of our 20th century airplanes.
Jacques Vallee has co-authored a book, ‘Wonders in the Sky’, that is sort of a catalog of historical ‘UFO’ sightings:

Interesting I have had similar experience. I really hope they are ours. If they are not God help us if they are hostile.
Some are. Some aren’t.
This has always been my theory.

Zero Point Propulsion. Instead of moving through space time as all existing vehicles and ourselves do, they capture a bit of the local space time and skim on the surface - negating any need for canceling gravity or carrying large amounts of fuel - the faster they go the faster they can go, no upper limit (even light speed). They do not violate relativity or any other principle.
There are very detailed explanations of the physics (first worked out by James Clerk Maxwell in the 19th Century), the mechanics, and very detailed drawings available online. They are ours and have been for a very long time.
The more people try to poke holes without any investigation, the more people poo-poo the idea, the more people unleash personal criticism at those who talk or write about this stuff, the more people cry aliens, the more people are dismissive, the easier it is to keep the whole of it secret and separate from the public.
