What did you do when you retired?
Getting close to the point that I may be able to retire.
Thinking about reselling,yard sales,goodwills,estates sales.
Always enjoyed junking,antiquing.
Gotta stay busy.
For good stuff....... Brit box and Acorn streaming sites
Morse taught me the Brits drink beer rather than water
For all my life I was the same, only in reverse.
Everyday was a weekday. I worked on the weekend. I still do. There is no distinction.
But I have to say I’m not a man of leisure. I love working - but I love working on my own terms.
RV’s fit my next chapter..
I got to spend some time in
Cochises Stronghold near Tombstone AZ.
.
I’ll get a P.O.box and an RV
with a shower and do some scouting.
One of my college classmates and wife retired to a 40 foot RV and lived in it for 12 years. they have been everywhere several times. they have tons of friends they met on the road. They bought a house in texas recently.
There is town in texas that takes care of folks like this. they get a permanent texas address and voting location. they get a Texas drivers license. they get mail forwarded.
So, you can have your RV cake and eat it too......
A place in Texas...
Can You share the Name?
I know minimalism is really trendy right now, but to drink a cup of tea from a cup that great great grandmother used is special. I just hope my kids will pass down to their kids.
Chiricahau national Monument is far cooler than Cochise’s Stronghold, go to both.
Make RV reservations EARLY

Oh and Bisbee is far cooler than Tombstone.
I wish I still lived in Hereford
Thanks, RIP John Thaw.
You done good with Lewis
I like retired detective Henry Crabbe in “Pie in the sky”
Foodie stuff AND detective stuff LOL
I could retire now at 62, but can’t get Medicare until 65.
What do early retirees do about health insurance? Especially with the individual mandate still in force.
The First Presbyterian Church in Bisbee is a sanctuary aand has a sign saying so.
St Elmo bar is a hoot
Welcome to my world
Quite frankly, I may pull the pin at 62.5
Healthcare is ridiculous now.
I pay $2500 premium and a $6500 deductible for me alone.
paying cash would be cheaper, cut out the middleman.
Some years back I adopted my wife’s practical idea of acquiring the tools, books and materials for those hobbies I had an interest in doing upon retirement. It became dogma at our house and we have tons of items laid up for different hobbies.
However just after I retired I also picked up a new thing — harmonicas. I played one just a bit, struggling, as a teenager. Never learned any musical instrument.
Do you know that there are five or six major harmonica brands? Do you know that there are about eight different types of harmonicas? Do you know that every type can be made in almost every key? Do you know that amplifiers and microphones are custom made for that harmonica sound?
Well you get the idea: GAS == Gear Acquisition Syndrome. All begun after my income ended — LOL.
