Full Title: 12/14/2017 -- Alaska's Cleveland Volcano sends off 20,000 foot high blast -- West Coast be on watch
The video at link is 18 minutes 17 seconds in length but the part about Cleveland Volcano begins at the 10:55 mark.
An island volcano in the Aleutian Island chain sent ash to a height estimated to be "Flight level 200" (20,000 feet according to the vlogger?).
Yes please...give us links! Thanks!
The EPA is on the case. They’ve issued the offending volcano a $1,000 fine for pollution the area.
The EPA official who issued the ticket/fine has not been seen since doing it. Where there’s smoke, there’s one well done Obama EPA official.
Luckily in my town we pay 5cents per shopping bag at the grocery stores, so this eruption will not affect the environment.
This is the second of two videos and I think it includes all the content of the shorter, prior one:

Dang, just another boring eruption. :^) Thanks ransomnote.

Trump’s fault.
I knew he shouldn’t have opened the tundra to energy exploration /s
Alaska Ping
One of these videos includes mention of volcanic rock washing up on shore in Oregon. A viewer is going to send him samples. He assumed it was pumice, which floats so well but the viewer corrects him saying it’s actually cooled lava.

Also - he calls out two places venting in the Pacific but you can see two more near the bottom. In a later video (I’ll look) he points out that his viewers saw the two other areas and reported it to him.
Bkmk
Great...do you manage a ping list on such activity? If so, could you add me to it? Thanks.
Dutchsinse.com mapped some of the undersea volcanos that were erupting. Showed satellite photos of plumes. Someone reported seeing pumice washed ashore Oregon Coast.
I forgot about that. Thank you. Yes his website includes instruction as to how to forecast earthquakes (his full methodology). He hopes to educate interested parties to forecast earthquakes.
Something I watch is “Realtime Tremor maps” based on what he has shown using this tool. Those are worth looking up on his website and then bookmarking on your browser. The short version - tiny little tremors are normal and happen along Cascadia and if they should stop (the plate become locked for a few days - no movement) long enough he would warn for a very very large EQ along the cascadia range. His last few months re tremors indicate that a vast length of the west coast of North America is moving quite a bit. His motto is don’t be scared, be prepared and some videos talk about preparedness - hopefully his website does too.
Here’s the tremor map website I now use: http://tunk.ess.washington.edu/REALTIME/
How many exhaust pipes does that equal?
What about plastic bottles? :)
Those islands don’t really exist. They’re optical Aleutians.
I see what you did there. ;)
