Why do ticks look the same today as 99 million years ago? Why didn’t they evolve?

My thoughts exactly. I HATE ticks, and I HATE chiggers even more! That is Chiggers with a “C”. I got into a mess of them last year. I carry a .45 to kill the ticks.
