Re your comment about the archives, Abercrombie and Obama’s birth certificate. You completely misconstrued what took place (as usual). Abercrombie never said he looked in the archives. He had previously announced that he was going to lay the *birther* controversy to rest by confirming that Obama had a HI BC. For that, he’d have looked in the vital records.

No matter what Obots contend, ‘Neil,’ did tell his friend Mike Evans that no HI BC exitsted for Obama. Evans backpaddling afterwards only underscores how sensitive the issue is. Abercrombie had thought he was speaking in confidence to a friend; Evans thought he was being gifted with a huge scoop. That explains why he talked about it 23 times the next day. Then he was obviously contacted and told to retract, which he did.

Anyway, Abercrombie never said he looked in the archives. He said he was *told* something was in the archives. But his search for the BC would not have been taken place in the archives. Not *everyone* on Abercrombie’s staff was a drooling idiot; when the governor said he wanted to confirm the existence of Obama’s BC, he’d have been directed to the vital records.

“by confirming that Obama had a HI BC”

There you go making stuff up again.

“Abercrombie, in his first on-camera comments on the matter, said that he has his attorney general and the state’s Health Department director looking at what legal avenues can they follow to release more documentation of Obama’s birth in 1961.”

Asked if one option is to ask Obama to waive his privacy rights so that a copy of his actual birth certificate can be released publicly, Abercrombie cut off a reporter’s question.

“No, no, no - it’s not up to the president,” he said. “It has nothing to do with the president. It has to do with the people of Hawaii who love him, people who love his mom and dad. It has to do with respect the office of the president is entitled to. And it has to do with respect that every single person’s mother and father are entitled to.”

Pressed on whether he might unilaterally release a copy of Obama’s actual birth certificate, Abercrombie made clear that he is waiting for his cabinet officials to give him a report on what he can legally do before proceeding.

“Obviously, I’m going to do what is legally possible,” the governor said.

In January, 2011 Abercrombie found out that legally he cannot release any information.

“Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie will end his quest to prove President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii because it’s against state law to release private documents, his office said Friday.”

Nothing about confirming that Obama had a birth certificate always only going to release what he was legally able to release.

“No matter what Obots contend, ‘Neil,’ did tell his friend Mike Evans that no HI BC exitsted for Obama.”

He didn’t just backpedal - he outright retracted everything he said.

It may show how sensitive the issue is or it may show he is a blowhard who made up a claim.

I wonder why Zullo never interviewed him.
