Contrast Thread: Here are the top 20 (box office) films of the 1950's. How many have you seen?

I posted a similar thread about more modern films, and while I've seen almost all of them, virtually every response so far is "little" or "none". I thought it might be interesting to contrast a similar list from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Here it is:

1. The Ten Commandments
2. Lady and the Tramp
3. Peter Pan
4. Cinderella
5. Ben-Hur
6. Sleeping Beauty
7. The Bridge on the River Kwai
8. Around the World in 80 Days
9. Rear Window
10. The Greast Show on Earth
11. The Robe
12. Giant
13. From Here to Eternity
14. White Christmas
15. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
16. Sayonara
17. Demetrias and the Gladiators
18. Peyton Place
19. Some Like it Hot
20. Quo Vadis

I have seen about half of the movies on this list.

The following are my favorite 1950’s movies that are missing:

North By Northwest
On the Waterfront
Paths of Glory

Haven’t seen Sayonara, I don’t think, but TCM is my favorite channel. Loves me some old movies!

I’m pretty sure several of those are from the 60’s.

Which ones? I pulled the list from IMDB.

I’ve seen 19 (all but Quo Vadis) and own 12 of them on DVD or Blu ray.

My bad.

I thought 7 and 8 were for sure.

I was wrong.

I’ve seen 17 that I can swear to.

Two I think I did, but not certain - Sayonara & Peyton Place

No to Giant, which has been on my mental watch list for years. I guess now is the time

All of them except Sayanora and Demetrius and the Gladiators. I’d never even heard of those two.

No Shane, High Noon, The Gunfighter? Forbidden Planet?

They didn't make the top 20 of box office revenue.

It’s probably not close to that list, but 1957’s A Face In The Crowd is an excellent movie. Definitely more relevant than when it was first released.

Only 11 on this list, so many missing that I would have spent money on to see. The late 50’s was a bad time to see movies for me. The show would start and 20 minutes later I was too busy to watch it. So although I went to the drive in a lot, I don’t remember most of the pictures I saw there. The windows got foggy on me most of the time.
